My in-laws met the guy on the dock at Key West and over a free lunch invested $7,000 for a week in a facility still being built. Five years later we paid them market rate ($12,000) for it and a decade later paid market rate ($40,000) for a second week. It has survived the 2008 financial melt-down, the pandemic and three hurricanes and has scant slack for rent year-round. Doesn't hurt that it overlooks the marina, is across the street from A&B Lobster House and is managed by an HOA. Location, location . . . . .
