When you think of Ringo Starr, you think of the Beatles, right?
Starr, who is 84 years old, is still performing and recording.
But his most recent album, “Look Up,” is a country disc.

Starr played two dates at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville last week. I was fortunate to see him perform January 15 at the historic, church-like venue, which turned 133 last year.
The shows (Jan. 14-15) featured all-star lineups celebrating Ringo’s songs that he performed with the Beatles and solo.
Among the guests, an eclectic mix of country (and not-so-country) veterans and newer artists: Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Brenda Lee, Sheryl Crow, Jack White, Billy Strings, Larkin Poe, Molly Tuttle, The War and Treaty and Mickey Guyton.
The audience included grandparents (and grandkids), cowboy hats and wardrobes from jeans and T-shirts to formal attire.
